The raw material is thus exported more than 10,000 km from the place of collection to India, Vietnam or Brazil, where it is processed and then travels back to the European market.

Our supplier's priority is for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of cashew nuts to be carried out by local growers and businesses in Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea, Ghana and Benin. This not only reduces the carbon footprint compared to the current supply chain, but also increases the price of raw materials and creates jobs in rural areas of West Africa, where poverty and unemployment are high. Through our Fair Trade supply chain in Burkina Faso, the supplier is committed to supporting this rural community away from commercial avenues and offering workers a fair and respectful working environment.
